Please schedule your appointment over the phone during regular office hours. Every attempt will be made to keep your appointment on time. Please notify the office at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment if you must reschedule.

If you are running late, please call the office and we will do our best to see you. If you do not, we require a $50 no-show fee for office visits prior to your next visit.

There are times when we will be called to the hospital for an emergency or for a delivery and we know that you understand.

Fees & Payments

Our fees are usual and customary. Valid insurance or payment arrangements must be presented. Payments must be made at the time of your appointment and include fees for non-covered services, co-payments, co-insurances and deductibles. Any fees acquired prior to your current visit must be satisfied including $50 no-show fee for missed office appointments and $150 for missed surgeries & procedures (this fee is due prior to scheduling this date). There will be an additional charge of $25 for services not covered by your insurance company. These services include but not limited to, FMLA forms, travel documents, adoption forms and other work or accident related forms, documents and letters.

Confidentiality

Your information is kept strictly confidential. Our staff has been trained and implements many measures to ensure your privacy. We request that you inform us of your preferred method of contact, including the best time of day and we will honor your wish.

We recognize that there are loved ones in your life that you might want to share the joys of your pregnancy at your prenatal visits or hold your hand during visits to discuss lab results.

We encourage, in fact, that you bring someone you trust with you to pre-operative visits. It is never our desire that you are uncomfortable if personal or sensitive information is being discussed, so please choose wisely. No one will ever share any information without your direct authorization, especially over the phone.

Telephone Calls

During office hours, please use the patient portal for personal questions/requests or call the office if you have routine questions, needs for prescription refills, etc. Allow us to respond as we are able during our busy days perhaps during the lunch hour or after the office closes. If your matter is urgent, please let us know the nature when you call. We do allow same-day appointments, so please consider calling as soon as possible. Otherwise, if it is after hours, urgent matters will be addressed by the physician via an answering service.

If at any time there are concerns that you consider an emergency, please call 9-1-1 or head to the nearest emergency room or Labor & Delivery.

Prescriptions & Refills

We are unable to provide prescription refills outside of our regular weekday hours. Please notify us via e-mail, phone or at your visit of prescription needs. Antibiotics & narcotics are not prescribed after hours.

Email Policy

Many emails contain PHI (see HIPAA below). This is true of messages you send us, and of those we send you. The standard email system used by our office (and most of the internet world currently) is NOT encrypted or secure. Even though our office computers sit behind a firewall, and your computer at home or work may be similarly protected, our email passes through many un-secure public servers while traveling between us. During that trip there is nothing to prevent third parties from intercepting & reading our messages. In this way an email is more like a postcard than a letter; there is no envelope to conceal its contents. Because of the above concern, only emails sent via the patient portal will be addressed with personal information as this is a secure format.
